Nuable are working with a fast-growing AI FinTech startup that is transforming how finance teams automate complex accounting and financial operations through intelligent AI-powered software.

Having recently secured significant funding and experiencing rapid commercial growth, our client is looking to hire a Senior / Staff Software Engineer to build the core platform that underpins their next-generation financial automation product.

This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage engineering team where you’ll have genuine influence over platform architecture, technical strategy and product direction while working directly with customers to solve real-world financial challenges.

Location

On-site – Midtown South, New York City (5 days per week)

Salary

$180,000 – $270,000 + Meaningful Early-Stage Equity

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior / Staff Software Engineer to own the foundational platform that powers every aspect of their AI product.

You’ll be responsible for building scalable platform services, orchestration systems, developer tooling and data infrastructure that enable engineering teams to rapidly deliver new capabilities.

This is a highly strategic engineering role that combines backend development, platform engineering and customer collaboration within a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

As a Senior / Staff Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

• Designing and building the core platform layer, including agent frameworks, orchestration, observability and developer tooling.
• Developing scalable financial data platforms capable of ingesting, normalising and reconciling data from multiple enterprise systems.
• Working directly with customers and finance professionals to understand complex workflows and translate them into reusable software solutions.
• Leading architectural decisions across the platform while identifying opportunities for scalability and technical improvement.
• Driving cross-functional engineering initiatives that improve productivity across the wider engineering organisation.
• Building robust platform services that support continued business growth and product expansion.

About You

We’re looking for engineers who have:

• 4–12 years of experience in Backend or Platform Software Engineering.
• Strong commercial experience developing software in Python.
• Experience designing scalable backend platforms and distributed systems.
• The ability to make architectural decisions within fast-moving environments.
• Strong communication skills with experience collaborating directly with customers and stakeholders.
• A passion for building foundational systems that enable engineering teams to move faster.
• Previous experience within FinTech, AI or enterprise SaaS would be advantageous.

Package & Benefits

• Base salary between $180,000 – $270,000
